Vinnytsia Innovation and Technology Park
The objective of the project is to support Ukraine in the development of a technology park.
Project title: Vinnytsia Innovation and Technology Park (VITP)
Project duration: 8 months (April–December 2019)
Budget: PLN 191,353.00
Programme: “Polish Development Assistance 2019” of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland
Kielce Technology Park received funding from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the implementation of a public task under the “Polish Development Assistance 2019” programme. The KPT project, which successfully passed the evaluation process, is entitled Vinnytsia Innovation and Technology Park (VITP). Its objective is to support Ukraine in the development of a technology park. On the Ukrainian side, the project is implemented by the Vinnytsia Municipal Innovation Centre.
The project has been divided into three stages.
The first stage will involve public consultations in Ukraine, with the participation of experts from Poland and representatives of institutions, companies, business support organisations, universities and local authorities from Ukraine. As part of the project, an ecosystem will be created around the Vinnytsia Innovation and Technology Park in order to build a network of ambassadors for the initiative among entrepreneurs, research institutions, local authorities and non-profit organisations operating in Vinnytsia, ensuring that all stakeholders can benefit from the project.
The second stage will consist of expert work aimed at developing realistic and implementable assumptions for building an entrepreneurship and innovation support ecosystem in Vinnytsia. Experts with experience in developing similar concepts, strategies and feasibility studies will be involved in this process.
The results of this work will include a set of studies comprising several components. These will include, among others, the VITP concept, financial and risk analyses, and a feasibility study. The documentation will also include a concept for launching a startup incubation programme and a set of standards required for establishing an incubator.
In addition, the project will develop proposals for the establishment of an IT school and a Technology Transfer Centre. The resulting documentation is also intended to serve as a good-practice model for other technology parks, park initiatives and business incubators in Ukraine.
The project will also include a training programme for staff. Workshops will be delivered by experts from Poland and will provide an opportunity to consult and verify individual elements of the strategic concepts.
Participants invited to the training will include representatives of the Vinnytsia Innovation Centre, academic staff – including specialists dealing with intellectual property rights (IPR) at universities – and representatives of organisations contributing to the ecosystem that have signed a letter of intent on cooperation in developing the support ecosystem around the Vinnytsia Innovation and Technology Park.
