Vocational schools learn to R&D and innovation via virtual reality

Kielce Technology Park, together with partners from Türkiye, Lithuania, Spain, Greece, the United Kingdom and Italy, is involved in the “VET R&D” project (Vocational Education and Training Schools in the Process of Learning R&D and Innovation Activities through Virtual Reality). The project aims to improve the skills of students and teachers in methods for developing and implementing R&D&I activities (research, development and innovation).

The project is addressed to students and teachers of vocational and technical schools. Its objective is to strengthen young people’s ability to identify, develop and implement innovations – skills that are essential for companies seeking to gain and maintain a competitive advantage.

One of the main project outputs will be an e-book presenting a vocational education methodology in the field of research, development and innovation. It is intended to prepare students for the implementation of research activities and innovation projects. The publication will provide both teachers and students with practical guidance on how to carry out the innovation process effectively.

Based on the e-book, virtual reality applications will also be developed to support active learning in the field of R&D&I among students.

The project was originally scheduled for completion in November 2021, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, its implementation period was extended until June 2022.

The project is implemented with the support of the European Commission under the Erasmus+ Programme. The total value of the project exceeds EUR 150,000.
