History

When in 2006 a document entitled “The strategy for the city of Kielce for the years 2007-2020” was created one of the many tasks of the city was the establishment of a science and technology park. It was assumed that the new institution would become a tool for development and construction of knowledge-based economy. Such an action would have a huge positive impact on the image of Kielce in the eyes of current and potential investors. Given the previous attempts to create such an institution in Kielce the task was not easy. Nevertheless, the city authorities and a determined group of young enthusiasts focused on the realization of the task. We wanted to change the perception of our city and the recipe for this was to create conditions for the development of entrepreneurship in the region. In 2007, we started implementing our plan. With the support of EU Funds we first developed and then implemented a project entitled “Kielce Technology Incubator”. We gained vast experience and knowledge of how such initiatives are managed in Poland and Europe. We gathered all the necessary documents and presented the idea of technology parks to the local community. The first results of our work and commitment were beginning to show in early 2008. We managed it! On April 3, 2008 the Kielce Technology Park (KTP) was established. The creation of the KTP is a success of local government structures, scientific and business communities, but above all a small team of young people that with great determination sought to increase the competitiveness of our region.
